CHITO GASCON HALOS MALUMPO NANG MARINIG ANG PAG-APROBA NG 1K BUDGET PARA SA CHR.! [WATCH]

Watch the video below:

One thousand pesos. That was the amount the House of Representatives approved for the Commission on Human Rights' proposed budget for next year.
Only 32 lawmakers voted against the budget, while 119 approved it Tuesday.
The topics #CHRBudgetCheaper, #GiveMyTaxToCHR, Human Rights, and P1,000 all trended on Twitter as of 11 p.m. Tuesday.
The amount effectively renders the Commission useless.
Netizens took to social media immediately after announcement. They expressed disappointment and anger over the decision.
Allocating Php 1,000 for CHR is like giving a one week allowance for a college student. Hilarious!
The attempt to defund the CHR is clearest sign we are living through an all out assault on the fundamental underpinnings of our democracy.

Online support for the decision was few and far in between, with netizens calling for CHR Chair Chito Gascon to step down "for the sake of Human Rights."
Most sided with the Commission, saying the approved budget was a "political message" aimed at opponents of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Even if the Senate rejects it, giving the CHR a ₱1,000 budget was still a political message: it was a threat directed to Du30′s opponents.

1000 pesos for 103,300,000 Filipinos

Let us never forget that for this government, our human rights are only worth Php 0.000009 apiece

But it wasn't just ordinary Filipinos who stood up for the CHR. Senators Chiz Escudero and Ping Lacson said they would fight for the restoration of the CHR budget.
The CHR is a constitutional imperative and a necessity, however inconvenient it may be for some... I will fight to restore its budget!

I happen to be the sponsor of the CHR budget in the Senate, along with a few other agencies like the DND, ARMM, etc. I accept the challenge.
