Buko na kayo: Wiretap case proves Aguirre 'conspiracy' - Hontiveros
'BISTO NA.' Senator Risa Hontiveros said Monday that the wiretapping case lodged by Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II against her only proves that he hatched a conspiracy against her.
Aguirre has accused Hontiveros of violating the Anti-Wiretapping Lawwhen she presented a photo of his text messages instructing a certain "Cong. Jing" to expedite the filing of cases against her.
The photo, Hontiveros said, was accidentally caught on camera by a journalist at a Senate hearing on the killing of 17-year-old drug suspect Kian Delos Santos.
"Secretary Aguirre was caught conspiring [with] and instigating private individuals to file cases against a sitting senator inside the Senate. Hindi rin naman itinatanggi ni Secretary Aguirre ang text conversation," Hontiveros said at the resumption of the Delos Santos probe.
(Secretary Aguirre has not denied the text conversation.)
"For the information of the Secretary, it's already game over. Tapos na ang boxing. Bistong-bisto na po kayo. Buko na kayo, tama na ang pagpapalusot, tama na ang pagtatago sa mga pekeng kaso. Panahon na para lisanin ninyo ang posisyon na lubos na ninyong dinungisan," she added.
(The boxing match is over, you've been exposed. Stop making excuses, stop hiding behind trumped up cases. It's time for you to leave the position you have gravely defiled.)
Hontiveros also questioned why the case against her was filed before the Pasay prosecutor's office, which is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Justice.
"Maliwanag ang conflict of interest. This also confirms the conspiracy hatched by Secretary Aguirre to expedite the filing of cases against me," she said.

Aguirre, for his part, countered that the real issue is whether Hontiveros violated the law and his right to private communication.
The photos of his text message, he added, were illegally taken and is thus an inadmissible evidence.
"Hindi ko po kayo bibigyan ng pagkakataon na dalhin ninyo sa ibang lugar ang issue sa inyo," he told Hontiveros, who made no reply.
